LEARND gives up but sticks around

LEARND gives up.

LEARND, the idea of ​​an equitable and accessible education for all will not see the light of day on the IC.

The initial idea in May 2021 was to offer IC users a platform for exchanging knowledge and skills using Dfinity technology.
With a monetary system like a reward for contributors but also for learners.

Learning could be rewarding. To date, the project is no longer progressing.

Development has been interrupted since February 2022.

The founder, Charlie can no longer continue alone and must focus on his private life, which prevents him from carrying out his mission. A first observation is to be made.

Such a project is a long project, a big project. Too big for such a small team.

Second observation: education does not pay, does not interest. On web 2, the education market is valued at 3 billion dollars… So imagine for a second the education market in a few years on web 3…

Yet education is one of the foundations of all our current and past societies. Bringing, sharing, giving knowledge to all creates a knowledgeable society capable of reflecting and questioning itself.

Where would we be if our ancestors hadn’t bothered to create these founding institutions like schools, universities? Where would our engineers, farmers, scientists and many others be? It is a bitter observation but education does not fascinate. Trading, easy money, images, this is what interests the public of blockchain and cryptocurrency in general.

However, a large number of people in our community want a platform where they can learn everything about our beautiful ecosystem that is IC. Understand and know how it works, how to code, what is an NFT, how to create one and so on.

LEARND will remain open, its code will be made public and will remain in the community as long as the community lives.
If one day the community wants to develop this concept of education, then a DAO will be possible and LEARND will become the property of the community.

Our Discord remains open and we will always be there to defend education, in all its forms: whether on the internet, on the Internet Computer or anywhere else.

We warmly thank all the people who followed us, opened their minds and believed in this crazy project. A big big thank you to you. You made us understand that it was possible to create new things at the risk of it not succeeding.
